Christopher Franek, made a $750.00 personal donation to Wildland Apparatus Engineer, SP yesterday. While this was a personal donation/sponsorship, Chris works for the New Jersey Department of Forestry as an Assistant Forest Fire Warden out of Frankford Township and believes that what we at WAE are trying to do with the type of material & information we are trying to put out to future wildland firefighters is a critical need and raises the bar.
This donation made by Mr. Franek will be used to help offset the $421.00 costs for the 50 books that are currently in production, as well as order more. The books are wire-o bound, 5.5″w x 8.5″h & 140 pages in total that can be used as lesson guides as well as a reference book for performing hydraulics calculations in the field. The books include lessons 1-14, The introduction and the pump theory sections as well as the Quick Reference book that contains all of the mathematic formulas for working from simple hoselays to handling tender shuttle relays to supplying helicopters at remote air fields’ as well as relay pumping operations.
WAE thanks Mr. Franek for sure!
